There are approximately  705,000 workers in the warehousing and Logistics distribution industry, these warehouse workers perform a wide variety of tasks, including labeling items, breaking bulk shipments down into smaller components, inventory control, light assembly, order entry and fulfillment, packaging, pick and pack, price marking and ticketing and transportation with a forklift and other transportation . Injuries most often happen with the back, upper extremities and knees, and most likely  caused by exposure to material handling or other ergonomic-related risk factors including high applied force, awkward postures, or long work schedules without adequate breaks. 

Every month to a few months a company has safety meetings to go over the tips and hazards to make sure every employee is safe on the job.  Here are some examples of safety tips for a warehouse and distribution facility .For conveyor safety  make a lockout plan for your conveyor systems and all other machinery systems you may have, so it can remain safely shut down in an event of a malfunction or repair during the that time.  Warehouse Ergonomics  : Equip packing stations with impact absorbing, anti-slip floor mats, did you know that can relieve the stress placed on employees knees, shins, and ankles while working all day in one place. Make sure that floors are kept free of spills and tripping hazards,  prevent eyestrain and errors by providing workers with overhead lighting that is sufficient for all operations. Never twist your body while carrying a load, it isn't safe it can lead to back injuries, if you need to turn direction, turn yourself by moving your feet in small steps or have a worker help you if needed.


Train your workers on proper hydration, appropriate clothing, and working in hot or cold environment. Its very important to know your safety tips and hazards to keep your self safe and others around you.
